I Am a Steinway - Tanner Gould

Sophronia Putau

I Am a Steinway
Tanner Gould

I am a Steinway,
used solely to play chopsticks.
An artist’s paintbrush,
given to a child.
The capacity is great,
but expectations minute.
I am a runner,
told he can only walk.
An eagle,
bound to flit from tree to tree.
But then again,
maybe chopsticks never sounded so divine,
than when played on strings such as mine.
